We decided to create a crawl space that is accessible from inside the house as we feel there are additional benefits. In addition to your contractor thanking you, pest are much less likely to get under the house, security is improved, and the space can now be utilized for storage. The crawl space access can typically be found in a downstairs closet so that it is already in a storage designated area if it is used in that manner.
